The WCC Transatlantic Race starts on Sunday 25th November in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (http://www.worldcruising.com/arc/). The race is 2700 miles, finishing in St Lucia. We will be sailing Heartbeat IV – Dufour 45e in the Racing Division. There are two boats from the Royal Burnham Yacht Club racing in this division, the other being Adrian Lower’s Swan 44 Selene. Both boats and crew have raced extensively in East Anglian Offshore, RORC and other series – both have done Fastnets and Heartbeat IV has raced the Rolex Middle Sea Race, and Selene the Round Britain & Ireland Race.  On board Heartbeat IV will be Judy and Jason Payne-James, Nicola Paterson, Roger Temple, Ian Magee, Paul Blande, Trevor Bassett and Karen and Russell Walker.  We will be trying to blog throughout the race  to www.heartbeatoffshore.com and also on on  Twitter account  #OffshoreHB.
